Never trust blindly on any technology if its traditional it doesn’t assures perfect result, low costing and atmosphere friendly. Curing compound is a chemical which as its name defines uses for curing. So, due to so many benefits chemicals become most preferable and first choice for contractors rather than water curing. Major reason is, it costs very low and it gives better results than traditional curing. Some people have this misunderstanding that chemicals are always harmful and they will cause adverse effect in one way or another. It is completely a myth neither every chemicals are harmful nor all of them causes harmful effect on nature. Some chemicals which are of huge affectivity and power like sodium sulphate etc. when used in factories or manufacturing industries and the smoke release during their usage causes harmful affect on health and atmosphere both. But the chemicals like curing compound which are totally wax based don’t cause any kind of adverse effect on heath and atmosphere. It just form a simple thin layer which stays the surface clean, dust free, wind free and free from other atmospheric effects, due to which the moisture which is present inside the layer of concrete remains as it is and start gripping strength by passing time and does not cause any kind of crack age of surface as well because moisture has been locked inside so there is not lack of water inside concrete which results no cracking’s.
Chemical curing is of two types (i) Permanent Curing (ii) Temporary Curing
Let’s discuss the benefits, uses and limitations of each one by one:
(i) Permanent curing can be simply understand by this definition- “A place where curing chemical is applied in such way so that its removal is almost impossible and you cannot apply any of the other material layer on that surface”
Where these applications are mostly used: Permanent curing is commonly used in places where there is almost no possibility of applying any of the further layers. In construction projects like highways and bridges or dams these kind of applications are widely used because these are one time construction which build up with huge efforts and perfection mostly the possibility of applying any further layer is very low so in these places contractors use permanent curing.
(ii) Temporary curing is simply opposite to permanent curing or as per definition it can be define as- “A chemical applied to cure the surface that is made up of concrete and where it is supposed to be applied a further layer of anything such as any kind of painting work or fitting of tiles and marble stones these kind of various applications need a particular grip to form a connection with surface and themselves and if in such conditions where they did not find so they leave the surface soon which results imperfect, hectic and costly work”
The temporary curing is easy to remove through detergents like soap or surf but using acids for removal of curing may damage your previous layer and results to damage a fresh one as well. So, never use any kind of chemical like acids and all for removing curing from the concrete surface. Some people scarify the surface to remove its curing but using this method cause a huge damage on surface of concrete and forms line of scratching which gives a bad look on surface and requires more efforts for next application which is supposed to applied on the scratchy one.

Prefer to use chemical which is called and well known as curing compound for curing concrete it results best and requires low cost and workforce.
